Accurate year-end closing

The first real frost before the coming winter did not stop us from moving into the well-heated hall. This time we welcomed five new prospective members. Two of them traveled almost three hours to get here. We have great respect for that. Before we really got started, there was another graduation. Luisa was delighted to reach Level 3. She always gives her all and never misses a seminar.

I started with the newcomers, while Arvid worked with the advanced students. As is often the case, it was challenging for the beginners to make the whip crack. But everyone worked hard until their shoulders were exhausted to get started. Meanwhile, Claudia practiced her form on stage, which she will need next year. Arvid started with everyone right away on the first steps of the form. Since we had only practiced individual movements so far, it wasn't that easy to coordinate hands and feet. But we really accomplished something.

After a short break, we switched. Arvid practiced the movements that the beginners found most difficult with them. Everyone found a technique that worked well and incorporated it from time to time to see if the whip was still working. Meanwhile, I worked with each person on the point where they were stuck. I was amazed at how far and smoothly we had already progressed. Time flew by once again and the first half was soon over. I used the break to build something new.

Claudia and I had come up with the idea of whipping targets. We were convinced that we could make a hole in them. We just hadn't tried it before. Somehow we couldn't find the time, or it was already too dark. So we all tested what was possible. I had brought various targets with me. That way, everyone could choose between targets for air rifles, darts, archery, and wild boar. It didn't take long for the sheets to be shredded. We really did get holes in the paper sheets, which were only hung up with clothespins. The best shots were placed on the benches at the side as souvenirs to take home. Otherwise, it soon looked like a snowy landscape. Paper scraps were scattered everywhere. There weren't many targets left either. Everyone had fun with it.

Suddenly, there were only a few minutes left to review and consolidate what we had learned that day. Then our stamina began to wane, and after four hours we were happily exhausted. Hats off to the children, who persevered and worked so hard. Of course, thanks to Arvid for his support and to Thomas for his consistently impressive pictures, which are always a wonderful reminder. That brought this year to a close, and we are looking forward to what will be our ninth season. Let's see what exciting events it has in store for us.
