We get into shape

A grey November day calls for color and movement. The right day to take care of our hobby in the hall. We were able to welcome another new prospect, Ezra. But before we really got going, we first celebrated Eve's birthday. Pietro had baked a cake especially for her. It was also time again to honor particularly dedicated members of our group. Luisa received her second level. Not only has she been training diligently with us for years, but she is also always getting involved. She has ensured that we always have enough flying targets in our seminar. Claudia was honored with the fifth level. She has been with us from the very beginning and makes sure that all the whips always work. She also ran a course on how to build a whip. She built so many whips herself for our children that there are always enough for all participants at every seminar.

Then it started. Arvid got straight into the form with the advanced students. The aim is for everyone to have mastered Grandmaster Ron's basic form by the fourth level so that they can then incorporate their own ideas. This will give us an even greater variety of movements and combinations over time. I went through the basic exercises for the first level with the beginners. Some of them will certainly achieve this next year.

After a short break, Arvid and I swapped the group so that I could get an idea of the performance level of the advanced riders. Everyone worked hard on their skills. Claudia transferred the movements of the steel whip, i.e. the chain, to the whip. This fits in well with the basic form. Stefan showed us how to perform rope dart movements with the whip. A completely new experience. Arvid refined the basic movements in the other group to turn them into a movement sequence. Almost half the time was up relatively quickly.

In the second part, we started with our favorite exercise, fighting beer mats. Everyone always puts a lot of effort into it. Ezra, who has only just started, also cut a fine figure here. We produced a lot of snippets and garbage. Somehow nobody wanted to stop or take a break, so we ended up fighting our flying objects for a whole hour. We used the rest of the time to consolidate everything we had learned and tried out today.

I had the impression that everyone used the time intensively again to learn something and have fun and enjoy exercise together. That's the end of the seminar series for this year. It will continue at the end of January. Many thanks to everyone who attended. I am delighted that you are still so intensively involved and that you keep bringing new people with you so that our group continues to grow.
