Halma and exam preperation

We are already starting another year, the eighth year of our existence. The calendar has just turned to February. High time to start the whip season. As always, we met in the well-heated hall at this cold time of year. This time, Arvid was allowed to take a break from teaching. For him, it's all about preparing for his next test. Level 6 awaits him. We will report on the exam when it is completed.

For everyone else, it was time to refresh their previous knowledge. Everyone was picked up at their level and immediately familiarized with the next basic movements. Tim, Ismael and Sarah took part this time. Claudia taught together with me and took photos on the side. We made good progress. There were no beginners this time, everyone had been there at least once before. So we were able to get to grips with more complex movements.

After a short breather, we continued with aiming accuracy. This time we tried to hit cones from a Halma game. They are very small. It takes a lot of precision to whip them away. Ezra had the most stamina. The small animals on the balance beam had to be used again so that everyone could hit targets at the same time. This time, only the small ones were set up as targets. The big ones are now too easy. So everyone could choose which level of difficulty was high enough for them. Luisa used the time to work on her form. Christian, Mirco and Pietro also continued to work on individual techniques.

After the last break, we put the individual movements together. We are already working our way towards the form with big steps. To do this, we built in small step patterns. This makes it quicker to build a complete sequence later on. Sebastian trained self-defense with the whip with Arvid and Christian during this time. This will be an essential part of the Level 6 exam. So it was a good investment of time in Arvid's preparation. Time ran out pretty quickly and the four hours were already over.

The next time we will experience the first Level 6 exam in Germany. Before that, of course, there will be our seminar as usual. So everyone is free to decide whether they want to take part in the seminar as usual or whether they want to experience the exam afterwards. I'm looking forward to it and am already very excited.
